Friends of Terryland Forest Park

Just a short reminder of the ‘Friends of Terryland Forest Park’ canvass meeting taking place at 4.30 Saturday week(Dec 8th) in the Atlantaquaria where we will quickly plan out the city-wide petition to stop the road construction through the Terryland Forest Park. I will have posters as well Terryland Forest Park facts-sheet and ‘petition sheets’ ready for collection and distribution. Thanks to the efforts of Sarah Knight, I will also have A4 as well as A3 posters available.
To ensure success, I plead with you to also bring a friend along! We need as many canvassers as possible! But please note that the canvass will not follow the meeting. That activity can take place the following week.
Please note that Galway City’s Mayor, Councillor Tom Costello, has agreed to support our campaign.
Furthermore, Councillor Niall O’Brolchain has agreed to approach the Minister of the Environment about having him meet a delegation from our committee.
Finally, we have an article in today’s Galway Independent (Dec 5) on Page 8 which includes a reply from Ciaran Hayes, the City Council’s Director responsible for the road proposal. We should have a piece also on Friday’s Galway Bay FM.
